Our Satellite Consulting practice currently focuses on terrestrial network-backup solutions. In the future, we plan to expand into Direct‑to‑Device (D2D) Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite connectivity for smartphones and mobile devices as these services mature.

As the number of LEO satellite providers grows and new service offerings emerge, we will offer a broader range of solutions. At present, we install and configure devices that enable IP networks to fail over to 4G or 5G cellular connectivity when the primary cable, DSL, or fiber connection goes down. These devices continuously monitor the main Internet link and, if it fails, automatically reroute traffic to one, two, or even four cellular carriers—selecting the strongest available signal to restore connectivity. The same hardware can also fail over to Starlink satellite service if the customer chooses.

For customers using an IP PBX that supports SIP voice trunks from a provider separate from their Internet service, SIP voice traffic can dynamically reroute from the SIP trunk provider directly to the customer’s IP PBX. This restores voice lines and extensions during an ISP outage and provides independence from bundled ISP voice services.

However, if the ISP supplies analog voice lines to the IP PBX, those analog lines cannot reroute through a cellular carrier or LEO satellite provider. Having SIP Trunking for all lines except fire and security phone lines makes good business sense.
